The Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City made a much welcomed announcement in February that it plans to launch an online gambling site. The platform will launch in the state of New Jersey only, in a partnership with some of the gaming greats – SNG interative, which is already a merger between Sportech and NYX gaming group.
This new move will see the Resorts Casino Hotel’s venture become just the 6th online gaming service to have launched in New Jersey. In the state, the rules surrounding online gambling dictate that to run a bingo or casino website, a company must create a partnership with a land-based operator, whether casino or bingo brand, in order for the online gambling operation to be legal.
The site itself will be called ResortsCasino.com, and it looks as though it could possibly feature the largest selection of online casino slots and table games in the state. There are also rumours of instant win scratch off games and bingo games to be included in the library on site. SNG Interactive will provide the whole platform for the site, so not only will the games come from them, but the whole layout of the site will be created by them too.
Before the new platform can successfully launch, it must undergo a testing period. A soft launch was made at the end of February so that a week-long testing and monitoring period could begin, overseen by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). In order to become available for players to start signing up, the site must not have any major faults regarding geo-restriction – which is particularly important as many other states don’t allow online gambling at all – as well as no fault found with their verification process for new players or payment processing system. If all of these are in good order and it’s deemed that no underage, excluded or restricted players can join, and that players can deposit and withdraw money safely and effectively, then ResortsCasino.com will be able to fully launch to players.
The chief executive of Resorts Casino, Mark Giannantonio, is positive about the move, believing that with a mixture of SNG Interactive’s flexible gaming solutions and the exclusive game content they offer, paired with the reputation and success of the land based giant Resorts Casino can only mean the best online user experience possible for players. As well as offering players an overall experience and gaming library to be rivalled, Resorts Casino aim to overtake the next biggest online market leader in New Jersey, which is PartyPoker, in partnership with The Borgata casino. With such an extensive offering reaching beyond poker, this shouldn’t be hard!
For SNG Interactive, which is home to brands like Sportech and NYX Gaming group, this is a much anticipated move from their European base into the United States market. As a leader in the industry in Europe, we can only assume they’ll bring great things over the pond for both ResortsCasino.com and any potential future online bingo or casino brands.
This great news also comes after figures published for January showed that there has been significant growth in the online gambling industry in New Jersey over the month. If you live in the state you could be looking forward to even more online bingo and gaming fun in the future if this is anything to go by. Fingers crossed the Resorts Casino online venture is a successful one!
